MUSIC MINISTRY "Sing to the Lord a new song..." Psalms 98:1
The Music Program at Milwaukie Lutheran Church is designed for those who wish to be a part of the music ministry mission. The Music Program ministers through the musicians who assemble for worship within our congregation and our community. Adult Choir - MLC's adult choir is open to all post-high school youth and adults. The adult choir sings at the first service on the second and fourth Sunday during the school year. The choir also performs a Spring Cantata service each year and leads the congregation in singing of the liturgy and hymns. Practices are held Wednesday evenings from 6:30 - 8:00 p.m. All are welcome. Bell Choir - The Bell Choir is open to adults who have a desire for making beautiful music with hand bells. This choir plays many times during the year, especially at festival times of the church calendar. Practices are held Thursday evenings at 8:00 p.m. Junior/Senior High School Choir - The Jr./Sr./ High Choir practices on Sunday Evening at 5:30 p.m. prior to the High School Youth group. KOK Choir - Always a congregational favorite, the KOK Choir is composed of K- 6th grade. Along with singing the children also play games and have fun while learning the meaning of music and Christian fellowship. KOK practices on Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. Instrumentalists - MLC is blessed with many talented youth and adult instrumentalists. These musicians beautify the worship service by accompanying the choirs and congregation and by performing solo music selections. Participation - MLC is continually searching for musicians, vocal and instrumental at all levels of expertise. Come sit in on a rehearsal session. There are no try-outs. Find out how enriching and fun music ministry can be at MLC. All are welcome. O come, let us sing unto the Lord: let us make a joyful noise to the rock of our salvation. Let us come before his presence with thanksgiving, and make a joyful noise unto him with psalms.
